Labthink Introduces New Type of Coeffcient of Friction Tester

In recent days, Labthink introduced its newly developed MXD-02 friction coefficient test to the market. Simultaneously meeting the test requirements of ASTM D1894、ISO 8295 and GB 10006 on friction property of materials, this instrument can completely satisfy the test demand of friction coefficient of domestic flexible package .

Friction coefficient is an important index in evaluating packing films, the controlling of which can impose direct influence on packing process and package application. At present, there are many domestic standards suitable for friction coefficient test of flexible packing industry. For film testing, the commonly used friction coefficient testing standards are 10006、ISO 8295 and ASTM D1894. Different test standards vary in aspects of stroke, test speed, and specimen dimensions. Therefore, there may be different test results for one same material if the referential standards vary. Moreover, operation procedures may also affect test data. For example, it is required in standard GB 10006 and ISO 8295 that contact time of two specimens should be 15s, while there is no specification in ASTM D1894 in terms of contact time. Since Contact time can affect test data, referential standards of the test should be notified in providing test data of friction coefficient.
